Annunciation Catholic Academy is committed to the integration of technology throughout the educational process. All grade levels utilize technology on a daily basis as part of their basic instruction. Each classroom has desktop computers, an interactive display panel, and an overhead sound system. Students utilize iPads on a 1:1 basis. Technology is used for collaboration and discovery in the computer and language learning lab, the Maker Space, and the IDEA Hub, an area dedicated to STREAM.

Annunciation Catholic Academy is a STREAM accredited school. STREAM is the incorporation of science, technology, religion, engineering, art and mathematics applied to a wide variety of projects. STREAM challenges students to think critically and engage in imaginative designs.

STREAM activities are used to solve real-world problems, which allow students to think critically about local and global issues. We strive to use technology to enhance the development of students, whether that development is spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical, social, emotional, or artistic.

Coding

We live in a world surrounded by technology and we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and fewer students are studying it than a decade ago.

That’s why our entire school joined in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week. We are excited that students in PreK-4 through eighth grade at Annunciation Catholic Academy and Pre-School, and their teachers, participated in The Hour of Code.
